Hogganfield Care and Skye Care have appointed provisional liquidators.
This means that the Hogganfield Care Centre, a 44-bed nursing home in Millerston, and the Skye View Care Centre, a 24-bed dementia centre in Airdrie, will close.
Joint provisional liquidator, and Opus partner, Mark Harper said: “It has been a very difficult period for operators in the care sector, the cashflow for both Hogganfield Care and Skye View Care Homes has been stretched due to significant increases in energy, food, staffing costs, and other inflationary pressures.
“Unfortunately, the director was unable to resolve these issues, particularly at Hogganfield where occupancy had fallen sharply to an unsustainable level.”
Liquidators will be working in conjunction with the care home staff, Glasgow City Council, North Lanarkshire Council and the Care Inspectorate to ensure all residents will be relocated to alternative accommodation.
The closure of both care homes will be managed, phased, supported and controlled, according to a statement.
Liquidators will also assist all staff members throughout the process.
