An air weapon has been fired at a home on a landmark seafront street.
Police are probing the incident, which happened on Beverley Terrace, which overlooks Cullercoats Bay, in North Tyneside.
Officers say no-one was injured, but the Chronicle understands a bedroom window was smashed.
A Northumbria Police spokesman said: “At 10pm on Sunday, we received a report of criminal damage at an address on Beverley Terrace, Cullercoats.
“It is believed that a suspected air weapon was fired at a bedroom window.
“Officers attended and no-one was reported to have been injured.
