Air ambulance lands after woman hit by car

A woman was taken to hospital following a car crash in West Kirby.

It's believed a woman in her 50s was hit by a car on Friday afternoon (September 2) on Macdona Drive. Videos shared with the ECHO show an air ambulance landing close to the scene in nearby Coronation Gardens.

North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) also attended, with the woman being transferred to hospital by road. NWAS confirmed the woman had suffered an ankle injury.

A spokesperson for the North West Air Ambulance Charity said: “The North West Air Ambulance Charity attended an incident in West Kirby at approximately 4.15pm on Friday, September 2. The incident involved a female in their 50s, with a suspected lower limb injury.”
