Air ambulance called to police incident in Cardiff park

Update: Police have confirmed the sudden death of a man in Cefn Onn Park.

A heavy emergency services presence was seen on Saturday morning at a Cardiff park. Police, paramedics and an air ambulance attended Cefn Onn Park in Lisvane.

A spokesman for Wales Air Ambulance said the charity had attended a "medical emergency" in Lisvane but could not give further details. Locals on social media reported seeing "lots" of ambulances and police cars heading into the park at around 8.30am as well as an air ambulance landing there.

The park was closed at 11.10am according to social media comments at that time, but had reopened by 12.15pm. An employee at the Old Cottage pub, on Cherry Orchard Road, told WalesOnline she had seen a police car "bombing up" from Thornhill and heard sirens but did not know why emergency services had attended.
