A cyclist was taken to hospital following a horror collision with a car in Jarrow.
Emergency crews attended the scene in the York Avenue area of Jarrow shortly after 6.30pm yesterday (Monday) following reports of a crash. At the scene, a car was found to have collided with cyclist.
North East Ambulance Service and the Great North Air Ambulance Service were present and a man was subsequently taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

A North East Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called to reports of a road traffic collision on York Avenue in Jarrow shortly before 6.30pm last night.
"We dispatched two ambulance crews and two crews from our Hazardous Area Response Team, and requested support from Great North Air Ambulance Service. One person was taken to the RVI by road for further treatment."
A Northumbria Police spokesperson added: “Shortly after 6.30pm yesterday (Monday) officers received a report of a collision involving a car and a cyclist in the York Avenue area of Jarrow.
“Emergency services attended the scene and the male cyclist was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Enquiries are ongoing into the circumstances surrounding the collision."
