Air ambulance called as motorcyclist taken to hospital after crash

A motorcyclist was taken to hospital following a crash involving two vehicles near a Nottinghamshire village. A motorcyclist and driver in a 4x4 vehicle were involved in a road traffic collision on Sunday, April 16.

The incident occurred in Normanton Lane, Stanford on Soar, near Loughborough, and was attended to by East Leake Fire Station. In a Facebook post, the fire station stated: "Ex-watch manger Torr on scene first. S30P1 and East Leake Fire Station arrived and rendered care to the motorcyclists, luckily our appliance had a off duty Paramedic riding today.

"Air and land ambulance arrived and took over treatment and transported to local trauma centre." The road remained closed for some time following the incident.
