Ainsley Harriott praised as he shares his secret to remaining happy and positive

Ainsley Harriott was praised as he appeared on Lorraine to plug his new show today.

The former Ready Steady Cook presenter chatted to Ranvir Singh about his latest venture, World Cup Flavours. It's a show where he will bring two of his biggest passions together - sports and food.

The 65-year-old chef holds quite the reputation for his enthusiasm and dazzling smile. There is rarely a moment of him being on screen without a huge, friendly grin and Ranvir made sure to point it out.

Ranvir said: "You're so enthusiastic about everything that you do. You're so.... Where does all this energy come from? I know you can't be like this all the time but your eyes twinkle."

He replied, spilling his secrets to happiness, as he said: "I exude that enthusiasm. I think it's the love of life and people.

"I think if you give out to people, you give out very positive energy and you get it back. We all know about negativity. You meet someone who's a bit down and they can pull you down too but you can get the opposite.

"You can get that moment where they say really positive things and you feel lifted. And food brings you that. And let's be honest, sport brings that too."

Fans on Twitter loved his attitude and showered him in praise. One user said: "You've got to admire Ainsley for his upbeat demeanour. If the planet was set to explode he'd waltz about with a pantomime grin #lorraine."

Rachel said: "I love Ainsley #lorraine". Meanwhile a third added: "Ainsley Harriett is just a gem. So happy even when the world's going to s***. #lorraine."
