All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen President Asaduddin Owaisi demanded that the planned special session of Parliament include a comprehensive discussion on the Chinese transgressions on the Line of Actual Control.
Mr. Owaisi was speaking to the media at his residence, where he reacted to media reports on the possibility of a Bill being introduced to make ‘one nation, one election’ a reality, which he said was unconstitutional.

Laying down the first of five demands, Mr. Owaisi said, “We hope and demand that the burning issue in the country, that of China invading and occupying 2,000 sq km of our land, is addressed. Previously, we had also demanded a special session to be called. We demand the Prime Minister to conduct a comprehensive discussion on this matter,” he stated.
The Hyderabad parliamentarian also demanded that the Indian Space Research Organisation’s scientists be invited to Parliament and honoured for their achievements. He also mentioned that athlete Neeraj Chopra should be invited and honoured as well. He emphasised the importance of inviting and encouraging the Indian cricket team ahead of their matches in the World Cup.
“We demand that the government immediately cross the 50% reservation limit. The Indian Prime Minister himself is an OBC, and it is his responsibility to address this issue. The Rohini Commission report was recently submitted. Our fifth demand is that the government announce the winter session dates. It should not be the case that the winter session does not happen, and instead, the note-on-account happens directly in February 2024,” he urged.
Reacting to speculation, Mr. Owaisi mentioned that if a ‘one nation, one election’ Bill is introduced in Parliament, it would not be accepted by states governed by opposition parties. The agenda, he said, would become clear once the Speaker calls for an all-party meeting.
