You always have to respect Aidan O'Brien's runners when they make a trip over the Irish Sea.
But the master handler has outdone himself this week after scintillating raids at Chester and Lingfield.
Much of the early flat racing season is now gearing towards the Epsom Derby and Oaks, with a number of classic trials taking place during the week.
The first of them was the Weatherbys Bloodstock Pro Cheshire Oaks where O'Brien's Thoughts Of June was allowed to be sent off at 7/1.
Despite being strongly pressed in the closing stages by Joseph O'Brien's Above the Curve, Thoughts Of June held on for victory.
In the very next race it was the turn of the colts in the Boodles Chester Vase Stakes. This time it was Changingoftheguard (100/30) who won comfortably in the hands of Ryan Moore.
Two out of two at the meeting soon became four out of four when Star Of India (6/4) and Temple of Artemis (9/4) won the Homeserve Dee Stakes and the Roofing Consultants Group Handicap respectively.
The tote+ Chester Cup Handicap is one of the most competitive handicaps of the season, but bookies had their heads in their hands again as O'Brien and Moore were at it once more.
6/1 shot Cleveland was always travelling well and showed a great attitude to win the staying contest.
It meant that O'Brien and Moore teamed up for five winners and 100% strike rate during the Chester Festival meeting. But they weren't done there.
On Saturday, Lingfield hosted the SBK Derby Trial Stakes, and it was deja vu as O'Brien saddled United Nations (9/4) for Moore to steer to victory.
Incredibly it marked six consecutive winners for O'Brien in England which would have paid out at 6,407/1 if combined in an accumulator.
