AI Supercomputer Predicts League Two January Transfer Window

The League Two January transfer window is expected to be an eventful one, with several clubs looking to strengthen their squads. Former Premier League striker Steven Fletcher will make the most notable move according to our AI Supercomputer.

AI Supercomputer Predicts League Two January Transfer Window

Top 5 Most Notable League Two January Transfers: Incoming

Player Move Transfer Fee
Steven Fletcher Wrexham ➡️ Chesterfield Loan
Jordan Hugill Rotherham United ➡️ Port Vale Undisclosed
Joel Cooper Linfield ➡️ Doncaster Rovers £50,000
Gareth McCleary Wycombe Wanderers ➡️ Crewe Alexandra £70,000
Liam Grimshaw No club ➡️ Salford City Free

Kicking off this list is Wrexham striker, Steven Fletcher, who is dropping down a league in the upcoming January window. The former Premier League goal scorer could sign for Chesterfield according to AI, aiming to help the Spireites challenge for the play-offs. Fletcher’s move is a loan deal until the end of the season.

Next up, the Supercomputer is predicting Jordan Hugill, another striker, to leave Rotherham United and sign for league leaders Port Vale. Hugill has had a frustrating season with the Millers so far, with fans getting on his back. A move away from the New York Stadium seems like one that makes sense for the 32-year-old.

Gareth McCleary is another player who could drop down into League Two according to our AI Supercomputer, as he joins high-flying Crewe Alexandra for a fee of £70,000 from Wycombe Wanderers. Despite being 37-years-old, McCleary still has plenty left in the tank and could help Crewe secure automatic promotion come the end of the campaign.

A name that might not be too familiar for League Two fans is Joel Cooper, but the Northern Irishman could be on his way to Doncaster Rovers this January. Grant McCann, Cooper’s fellow countryman, knows Linfield manager David Healy very well, with the pair having a strong relationship. This move makes sense for both parties.

Lastly, our AI Supercomputer has picked Liam Grimshaw to join Salford City in the January window. Grimshaw is still only 29-years-old, with this move one both Salford and the right-back are hoping will reignite his career.

Top 5 Most Notable League Two January Transfers: Outgoing

Player Move Transfer Fee
Luke Molyneux Doncaster Rovers ➡️ Peterborough United £220,000
Mathew Stevens AFC Wimbledon ➡️ QPR £140,000
James Berry Chesterfield ➡️ Rotherham United Undisclosed
Sam Folarin Harrogate Town ➡️ Fleetwood Town £125,000
Samson Tovide Colchester United ➡️ Exeter City Undisclosed

Our AI software believes there could be some notable outgoing transfers in the League Two January transfer window this winter. One of those is the in-form Luke Molyneux leaving promotion chasing Doncaster Rovers, joining Peterborough United in League One for a fee worth £220,000.

Next on the list is AFC Wimbledon star man Mathew Stevens. Our Supercomputer is predicting Stevens will jump up two leagues and sign for Championship side QPR. His transfer fee of £140k could help Wimbledon recruit and push for the play-offs come May.

With Jordan Hugill expected to leave Rotherham United in January, our AI Supercomputer is predicting that Chesterfield’s James Berry will replace him. Berry has scored seven goals this season for the Spireites, and could help Millers boss Steve Evans solve their problems in front of goal.

Sam Folarin is the next prediction on our AI list, as he joins Fleetwood Town from Harrogate for a fee worth £125,000. Folarin began the League Two campaign like a house on fire, but has been in and out of the starting XI for the past couple months. This move to the Cod Army could give the lively winger a new lease of life again.

Rounding off our League Two January transfers we have Samson Tovide. Tovide is clearly enjoying his football with Colchester United this season, and is being rewarded with a move up a league. The centre-forward has been with the U’s for over four years now, and is finally getting his move as he joins League One side Exeter City.
