AI Limit's early hands-on preview showcased the upcoming game's stylish visuals and intense soulslike combat gameplay and mechanics.

The game, developed by Sense Games, is coming later this year and is a post-apocalyptic soulslike action RPG set in the distant future when civilization is on the verge of extinction. One thing that immediately stands out in the game is its environment.

It also features the familiar soulslike bonfire checkpoint system, punishing combat encounters, and hideous bosses. However, this is all packed inside an anime-inspired, sleek, and cartoonish art style that sets itself apart from other games in the genre.

Like other similar games, AI Limit does not hold anything back when it comes to inspiration and it is proud to be a soulslike from beginning to end. The game lets you gather materials from fallen enemies that you can then spend to upgrade your stats, according to IGN.

You can also find various weapons and equipment inside every monster-filled corridor that lets you customize your fighting style and abilities. One thing that many people can also expect is to die a lot of times to tanky bosses who have serious anger management issues.

In an hour-long demo, some players who were able to dive early into AI Limit's world said that the game seems content to simply follow that recipe to a tee. It offers gameplay that is pretty much the same as other soulslike and doesn't set itself apart other than its visuals.

A Visually Stylish Soulslike

Despite the graphics being a relatively simple change, it was enough to pique the interest of many players. AI Limit was able to deliver beautifully a sleek and interesting UI and showcased smooth combat animations, said RPGFan.

The 45-minute section of the game that was featured in the hands-on preview amounted to roughly 40% of the first level. The game's demo started out with your character being unarmed and underground.

The character that you take control of is named Arrisa, who is a technologically advanced humanoid known as a Blade. You will also be armed with the power of "Branches," which allow respawning after death, according to GamerBraves.
