Ahead of Zagreb, Celtic 'famous coach' and 'dangerous duo' billed as key threats

Ahead of Celtic's visit in the Champions League next week, Croatian media has identified the key threats it believes the visitors pose to Dinamo Zagreb.

From the hosts' perspective, Sportske believes the upcoming matchday six encounter is the 'European game of the season', one that it considers a 'must-win' for the HNL side.

Celtic enter the match with eight points on the board in search of their first away win in the competition.

Dinamo, on the other hand, sit on seven and, like Celtic, have half an eye on the tournament's play-off round with three league-phase fixtures remaining.

For the Croatian publication, Celtic's biggest threat on the road won't feature on the pitch itself.

Sportske said (translated via Google): "Perhaps their biggest strength and name is sitting on the bench, and this is Brendan Rodgers, the Northern Irish coach who at one stage of his career also managed Liverpool.

"In terms of players, everything starts and ends with Daizen Maeda, a small (173 cm), quick-footed 23-year-old Japanese player, whose great friend is Josip Juranović , his former teammate."

Sportske added: "Maeda is comfortable in the white and green dressing room, because his compatriots, midfielder Reo Hatate and forward Kyogo Furuhashi, with whom he cooperates brilliantly in the last third of the field, keep him company.

"Rodgers has worked in the English Premiership for a long time, so it is clear that he wants a touch of the strongest football league in the world in his team. His wish was granted through the pair consisting of Auston Trusty and Cameron Carter-Vickers.

"The crux of Celtic's story is that they 'live and die' on the Japanese power of Maeda and Furuhashi."

Celtic face Hibs at Celtic Park in Scottish Premiership action tomorrow (Saturday, November 7), before turning their attention to Dinamo Zagreb at the Maksimir Stadium on Tuesday, November 10.
