K-pop sensations BLACKPINK are set for a much-anticipated comeback in 2025 after splitting last year, according to YG Entertainment founder Yang Hyun-suk.
The South Korean girl group, made up of musicians Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa, will reportedly return to the stage next year and embark on a world tour.
The news came after Hyun-suk shared a video in which he teased what may lie in store for some of K-pop’s most famous acts.
Based on Hyun-suk's remarks, 2025 could be a massive year for K-pop.
“I can’t say we have specific plans yet, but I think a lot of artists will be active simultaneously,” he explained, before adding that next year will “also be the year [that BLACKPINK] start their world tour”.
The record label boss, who also represents a wealth of other K-pop stars, also revealed a number of other updates, including the return of 2NE1, and world tours for TREASURE and BABY MONSTER.
BLACKPINK, who received honorary MBEs from King Charles last year, split in December in order to pursue solo careers.
Since then, the artists have been spotted in the front row of fashion weeks and even walking runways themselves as they mingled with the world’s A-listers.
However, their announcement suggests the group is ready to make music again.
Little is known about what their return in 2025 will entail, but based on their touring track record we can expect a high-energy performances and pop-perfect bangers.
As fans gear up for their comeback, those in the UK can also get an added dose of K-pop fun by watching BLACKPINK’s previous tour in cinemas.

When are BLACKPINK going on tour?
BLACKPINK haven’t actually released any music since their 2022 Born Pink album, but that could be about to change.
There isn’t any official information about an upcoming tour dates just yet, but it looks like they’ll be embarking on yet another global tour in 2025, according to Yan Hyun-suk.
Where to watch BLACKPINK World Tour in London cinemas?
The Born Pink World Tour held between 2022 and 2023, was the band’s second global concert.
Giving groups like the Spice Girls a run for their money, BLACKPINK sold 1.8 million tickets for their last tour, making it the highest-grossing tour of a female act in the world.
But if you missed out on tickets last time and can’t wait until next year, you can still get a pretty immersive experience by heading to several UK cinemas this August.
Limited screenings of the band’s 2023 tour will be available between July 31 and August 4 in Vue and Odeon cinemas around the capital and greater London.
This includes all the major London cinema locations such as Leicester Square and West End, as well as further afield in places like Surrey Quays and Wimbledon.
The live tour will also be featured in cinemas across the UK including cities like Manchester, Leeds and Birmingham.
