Online travel agency Agoda is releasing a new feature called "Price Freeze", which allows customers to lock the best rates and pay a small deposit from at least one day up to 14 days, as a new option for individuals who are planning a holiday but still unsure of the exact period.
Price Freeze definitely makes bargain hunters happy since even if accommodation costs may rise or fall during the "amount freeze" period, consumers won't pay more than the agreed-upon price and, in fact, will save more money if the price falls. If guests opt not to book a reservation during the authorised price freeze period, just the initial deposit is forfeited.
"Asia has re-opened, and the world is back travelling, yet people still want to know that they are getting the best possible deals, and that's what Agoda always strives to ensure," said Omri Morgenshtern, chief executive officer of Agoda.
"There are times when consumers aren't ready to fully commit to their purchase and need time to decide, but we don't think that should mean they miss out on the best deals. By introducing price freeze technology to the Agoda platform we are able to offer travellers even greater flexibility, choice and best prices."
Agoda has developed a specially designed augmented reality game on Instagram to commemorate the launch of this price-freezing feature, which will be accessible internationally and on all Agoda platforms in early 2023. The game will be available on desktop and mobile sites at launch. To get the greatest score, you must catch as many freezing objects as you can (snowflakes, ice lollipops and ice cubes) while avoiding heated objects (tea, fires).
Agoda offers excellent prices on a worldwide network of 2.9 million hotels and vacation rentals as well as flights, airport transfers and more to make travelling easier for customers. Its website and mobile application are available in 39 different languages.
