'Agent James Garner' - Manchester United fans urge club to make Djed Spence move amid links

Manchester United fans are urging their club to make a move for Djed Spence amid reports linking him with a move to the Premier League - and they feel they already have a headstart on their rivals.

Spence has been one of the standout players for Nottingham Forest this season, with his performances at right wing-back earning him plenty of plaudits. The 21-year-old was this week named in the Championship Team of the Season.

Having joined Forest on loan from Middlesbrough last summer, Spence has flourished under Steve Cooper as Forest have battled for promotion back to the Premier League. The England U21 international also gained plenty of attention during Forest’s run to the FA Cup quarter-finals as they beat Arsenal and Leicester along the way.

Ahead of his return to the Riverside this summer, Spence has been linked with a move to the Premier League next season, with United among those linked. Sky Sports’ Florian Plettenberg has also suggested Manchester City, Arsenal and Tottenham are in the running, along with Bayern Munich.

United fans have spotted a couple of factors that could hand them. Spence is said to be a United supporter, with fans digging out an old tweet to show his reaction following the win over Paris Saint-Germain back in 2019.

Furthermore, Spence has spent the season playing alongside United loanee James Garner, who is set to return to Old Trafford in the summer. Fans are now calling for the midfielder to put in a good word with his Forest teammate as they look to win the race for his signature.

Given his performances this season, it seems a good bet Spence will be playing in the Premier League next season. With full-back an area that needs addressing for United, he could prove to be a shrewd bit of business by the club.
