The NFC West had an embarrassing weekend the last time the Los Angeles Rams played, with the division going 0-3 in Week 9. The Rams, Seattle Seahawks and Arizona Cardinals combined for just six total points, getting outscored by their opponents, 84-6, with zero total touchdowns.
It was a different story in Week 10 while the Rams were off, though.
The San Francisco 49ers, Seahawks and Cardinals all came away with wins on Sunday afternoon, so each team gained a half-game on the idle Rams in the NFC West standings.
The 49ers blew out the Jaguars in their return from the bye, winning 34-3 on the road to snap their three-game losing streak. The Seahawks barely pulled out a win over the Commanders at home, beating Washington 29-26 thanks to a last-second field goal in the fourth quarter. The Cardinals won in Kyler Murray’s return, also on a game-winning field goal against the Falcons as time expired; the final score was 25-23.
Here’s a look at the NFC West standings after Week 10.
- 49ers: 6-3 (next: at TB)
- Seahawks: 6-3 (next: at LAR)
- Rams: 3-6 (next: vs. SEA)
- Cardinals: 2-8 (next: at HOU)
The Rams are three games back of the Seahawks and 49ers, so it’s obviously going to be difficult to catch them with only eight games remaining. To make matters worse, the Cowboys and Vikings both won on Sunday, too, improving their records to 6-4 as they cling to the sixth and seventh seeds in the NFC. The next-closest team in the wild-card race is the Bucs at 4-5.
The Rams sure has their work cut out for them and it begins with beating the Seahawks on Sunday.
