Former Liverpool defender Stephen Warnock has urged the club to move for Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans.
The Reds' poor start to the season continued on Monday night as they were beaten 2-1 away to Manchester United. They've collected just two points out of a possible nine from their opening three league games and sit 16th in the table.
Their injury concerns also worsened as midfielder Naby Keita wasn't named in the matchday squad, having picked up a problem over the weekend. The mounting crisis, along with the poor form, has resulted in a number of supporters calling for midfield reinforcement before the transfer window slams shut on September 1.

Liverpool's stance has remained the same all number, that their transfer business in terms of incomings has concluded and midfield will be the focus in the summer of 2023. However, Warnock has warned the start to the season is a concern for Jurgen Klopp and Tielemans is a player who could come in and make a difference.
"A lot has been made of Liverpool needing midfield reinforcement," he told BBC Sport. "I do agree with it.
"I think the owners, at some point, will have to put their hands in their pockets and give Jurgen Klopp an extra player. Whoever that may be.
"One of the guys that stood out for me was Yves Bissouma, who went to Tottenham and for the fee they paid for him, I think he would have been perfect for Liverpool. But the other one at the moment, who is available and seems like he's after a move, is Tielemans at Leicester.
"You think, could he be an option if you pay about £25 million for someone like him to come into that midfield. To offer the competitiveness that is needed in those central positions. It's always a worry when you have your worst start to a Premier League season in 10 years, it's a massive concern."
Tielemans has been linked with a move to Anfield before, with rumours first emerging last year. He's now in the final year of his contract at Leicester and has been heavily tipped to depart the King Power before next month's deadline, some reports have suggested he could be available for less than the £25 million reported earlier in the window.
However, Premier League rivals Arsenal have also been linked with the 25-year-old and he won't be short of suitors if he does leave Leicester in the coming weeks.
