A Devon entrepreneur has opened an Afrocentric retail and events space in Barnstaple.
Natasha Vigille's Black Wall Street London (BWSL) store, at 24 Green Lanes shopping centre, sells hand-picked products from all over Africa, including artwork, homewares, books, cosmetics, fashion and gifts.
Ms Vigille, who first launched BWSL in Camden in 2020, also hosts events created to showcase black-owned businesses, spread brand awareness and business knowledge.
The entrepreneur said she is "passionate" about providing an interactive community environment and an "all-inclusive safe community space".
“With a core belief that collaboration is key to our success... It will be done with the community as the focal point," said Ms Vigille, who also runs her own luxury scented candle business, Cornucopia Emporium.
The North Devon branch of BWSL is planning to hold a series of events, including a book signing on June 11, between 2pm and 3pm, with author Melody Appleton.
Ms Vigille said she also plans to run Afrotherapy drumming workshops; candle making workshops; art classes; and spoken word poetry sessions in her store.
“My passion is to provide accessible and affordable workspace and business trading space to black-owned businesses whilst providing a platform that gains exposure and the opportunity to spread brand awareness," she told BusinessLive last year of her London hub.
Ms Vigille is a Great British Entrepreneur Awards 2020 finalist and was nominated for the Entrepreneurial Spirit Award, representing the South West, as the founder of Cornucopia Emporium.
