AFC West standings: Chiefs and Broncos at the top entering Week 4

Who would have predicted this after the Denver Broncos lost to the Seattle Seahawks in Week 1? After three games, the Broncos (2-1) are tied with the Kansas City Chiefs (2-1) for first place in the AFC West.

Granted, three weeks is a small sample size, but it’s still a welcomed development in Denver. Here’s how the division stacks up entering Week 4.

Team Record Div. Conf.
Kansas City Chiefs 2-1 1-0 1-1
Denver Broncos 2-1 0-0 1-0
Los Angeles Chargers 1-2 1-1 1-2
Las Vegas Raiders 0-3 0-1 0-2

The Broncos have a better record in the conference, but the Chiefs already have a division win, which is the second tiebreaker after head-to-head. Denver is yet to play a division game, but that will change this week when the Broncos travel to Las Vegas to face the Raiders.

If Denver wins in Vegas and gets a division win, that could propel the Broncos above the Chiefs in the division. But, again, it’s still early in the season, and these standings could obviously change quickly.
