If there’s one thing the Tennessee Titans can have complete confidence in as they attempt to expand upon last year’s success in 2020, it’s the ground game.
The Titans’ rushing attack is driven by Alabama product Derrick Henry, who finished out the 2019 season with the NFL’s rushing title with 1,540 yards, and was a major part of propelling the offense through the postseason.
The Titans placed a franchise tag on Henry earlier this offseason, also adding former Appalachian State running back Darrynton Evans to provide some depth behind him.
But where does the AFC South as a whole compare to other divisions, looking specifically at the running back position.
When Jared Dubin of CBS Sports ranked each division based on running back talent, he placed the AFC South at No. 6 overall — just two spots away from dead-last.
Henry is a star. He runs over and through everybody in front of him. He doesn’t contribute much as a receiver, but if the Titans get a lead, they can lean on him to end pretty much any game. On the other side of the spectrum, the Jaguars seemingly can’t wait to get rid of Fournette, who simply has not lived up to expectations. Armstead has a bit of dynamism, but we don’t know if it’s anything more than that.
