Week 15 of the NFL regular season brought some of the most entertaining matchups of the year, as there were stunning upsets and photo finishes.
After 15 weeks, the AFC East still has just one team at the top of the division – the Miami Dolphins at 10-4.
Mike McDaniel’s team, coming off a tough loss to the Tennessee Titans on Monday night, had a quick turnaround to prepare for the New York Jets, who had just beaten the Houston Texans the week before. Miami dominated in all three phases of the game to shut New York out 30-0, despite injuries at key positions.
The Jets, with the loss, dropped to 5-9 on the year and were officially eliminated from postseason contention. That means that Aaron Rodgers probably won’t be coming back this year, and they’ll spend the final three weeks trying to play spoiler.
Sean McDermott’s Buffalo Bills took on the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday and looked like they’ve officially turned a corner. Quarterback Josh Allen didn’t even have to play his best game for Buffalo to put a 31-10 beatdown on Dallas. They rushed the ball 47 times for an incredible 268 yards between Allen, James Cook, Ty Johnson and Latavius Murray. An inability to run the ball has been one of the Bills’ downfalls in recent years, so this is a welcome sight for them.
The New England Patriots fell to 3-11 after losing to the Kansas City Chiefs 27-17 at Gillette Stadium on Sunday. Bailey Zappe appeared to show some signs of life, but the offensive line and lack of wide receiver talent continued to be a glaring issue for Bill Belichick’s squad. The only good news for New England is that with the Carolina Panthers winning, they are just one game back of the first overall pick.
