AFC Bournemouth vs Brentford LIVE: Premier League result, final score and reaction

A general view of Vitality Stadium - (Getty Images)

Follow live coverage as AFC Bournemouth face Brentford today in the Premier League. Another top-flight season will be covered in full right here with The Independent, as reigning champions Manchester City look to make it an unprecedented five titles in a row come the end of 2024/25.

The likes of Arsenal and Liverpool will be chasing Pep Guardiola's side, but just as fascinating will be the race for Champions League places, with more teams than ever before having designs on top-four finishes. Chelsea remain big-spending, Manchester United's latest rebuild continues and both Tottenham and Newcastle will expect improvements this year - yet it was Aston Villa who snared fourth last term.

Meanwhile, it's Southampton, Leicester City and Ipswich Town who made it back to the elite after promotion last year and each will have hope they can make it more than a one-year stay. Follow the latest live action from the Premier League below:

The full-time whistle blows at the Vitality Stadium as Brentford come from behind to beat Bournemouth in the Premier League. The game was played at a high tempo throughout the 90 minutes with both sides creating a number of opportunities on the south coast. It was the Cherries who took the lead early on as Vitaly Janelt headed into his own net after brilliant play from Milos Kerkez. However, the Bees responded well to going behind and levelled thanks to Yoane Wissa’s delightful header from a Bryan Mbeumo corner kick. Both teams had a number of openings in the second half as Antoine Semenyo smashed the woodwork, but it was Thomas Frank’s outfit who scored late on as Christian Norgaard lashed home past Kepa after the hosts failed to clear Kevin Schade’s long throw. The visitors held on for all three points as they picked up a fifth straight victory on the road. Bournemouth had a superior xG of 1.65 during the game, while the west Londoners had an xG of 0.82.
