A Dorset IT consultancy has secured a cyber security partnership with AFC Bournemouth.
QuoStar, which has been operating in the town for more than 15 years and provides services for firms with workforces of between 30 and 300 staff, will support the Premier League club protect its day-to-day operations through the 2022-2023 season.
The company will become part of The Cherries’ business club as part of the agreement, which it said would help to raise its profile. QuoStar will also provide an IT and technology-themed masterclass to members of the club’s youth membership, Junior Cherries, as part of its local community commitments.
The deal will also see QuoStar act as headline sponsor of the half-time entertainment at the team’s home games, providing merchandise for supporters that take part.
Chief executive Robert Rutherford said: “As the club's IT partner, it is a pleasure to assist them with what we do best. By leveraging this partnership, we aim to support local initiatives that will enable digital learning among all ages and connect people with technology. Sport and our community are important to us, and this partnership underlines that commitment.”
Rob Mitchell, commercial director at AFC Bournemouth, added: “This is a partnership that will benefit everyone involved, with QuoStar committing to providing IT support to the club as well as young people in the local community.
“We’re pleased to be working with a successful locally-based business who are passionate about the football club and the town as a whole.”
AFC Bournemouth also has a partnership agreement with Poole-based property finance lender MSP Capital, while gambling firm Dafabet is the team’s current front-of-shirt sponsor.
