Once a month, the Gaon Charts and the Korea Music Contents Association announce which albums have reached certain sales thresholds in South Korea, thus earning coveted certifications. Titles can be named platinum (for selling 250,000 copies), double platinum or triple platinum, and after that, million status (and multiples of it) kicks in. With November over, just four titles snag new prizes in the country, with three major players all collecting additional honors while an exciting new act in the business snagging their first.

Seventeen won the month with the highest certification among all titles in South Korea in November. The boy band’s Attacca EP earns a very rare double million certification, meaning it has sold at least two million copies in the country. Seventeen is just the fourth act in the nation’s history to land one of those, and they join BTS, NCT Dream and NCT 127 in the incredible feat.

Impressively, Attacca was only released in mid-October, so that means it has sold at least two million copies (and the total sum is actually higher than that) in less than two months. Seventeen’s latest set is easily one of the bestselling titles of 2021 in South Korea, and there are only a handful of efforts that have performed better.

Next up is Enhypen’s Dimension: Dilemma, which earns a million certification for selling as many copies in South Korea. That title needed just a bit longer than Attacca to sell half as many units. The band is surely celebrating, as this is their first such certification.

NCT 127’s Favorite quickly goes from no certifications to being a triple platinum album in South Korea. The set has now sold 750,000 copies since it dropped in late October (which seems like it was an incredibly busy time period for exciting new drops). The title is a repackaged deluxe edition of their fourth full-length from the band, Sticker, with several new songs added.

The fourth and final new certification announced after the month of November is Aespa’s Savage, which immediately becomes a double platinum win for the new girl group. The band has only released one collection, and since it arrived more than two months ago, it has sold at least 500,000 copies. Savage marks the first album certification of any kind, but it surely won’t be the last.
