Aer Lingus surprise passengers with free tickets to Ireland Autumn Nations Series game

Aer Lingus surprised some lucky passengers on a flight to Paris from Dublin on Friday as everyone aboard received a free ticket to an Ireland Autumn Nations Series game.

Irish fans are making their to France for the Six Nations clash on Saturday afternoon.

Sean Haughey was on the flight and told Irish Mirror Sport how the cabin crew played a message from Johnny Sexton over the intercom about him thanking everyone for their support.

The audio went on to say that as it is the first time in two years travelling fans would be able to go over to a game, that as a thank you, Aer Lingus would like to offer everyone on board a ticket to one of Ireland’s Autumn Nations Series games in November.

Sean said everyone cheered as the message finished.

"Everyone gave a big cheer, he said."

"They had mentioned that a surprise was coming, it was a nice start to the trip."

Sean tweeted: "Lovely gift from @AerLingus on the flight over to Paris this morning. Ticket to an Ireland Autumn Nations Series game in November for everyone on board."

Fans in Ireland can watch Saturday's match on Virgin Media 1, with their coverage starting at 4pm.

Kick-off is at 4:45pm.

The Boys in Green will be without their captain Johnny Sexton for the match after he picked up a hamstring strain in training during the week.

Farrell was expected to name an unchanged starting XV for the game before the influential fly-half sustained the injury in training on Wednesday.
