Aer Lingus issues advice to passengers flying today as app and website are inaccessible

Aer Lingus passengers are being reassured that all flights are going ahead as planned today despite a major technical disruption on their website and app.

The Irish airline has confirmed that their website and mobile apps are all completely down today and are advising that people flying today to leave extra time for check-in.

Customers are reportedly not able to access their boarding passes on the digital platforms, but have been told to arrive at the airport as planned for their scheduled flights.

At this point, it is understood that there are no major delays or disruptions as a result of this technical glitch.

However, the airline has said it cannot rule out the possibility of flight delays as they deal with the issue.

Passengers can keep up to date with the latest developments on the airline’s social media.

An Aer Lingus spokesperson took to Twitter to confirm: “Our website and mobile apps are currently unavailable. Flights are expected to operate as normal today, with a risk of some delays.

“Customers should allow extra time for check-in and should also check their local airport website/screens for flight status information.

“We apologise for this inconvenience. Our teams are working on resolving this and we will return all services as soon as possible.

“Further updates will be provided via our social media channels”.

UPDATE, 1pm, April 6: Aer Lingus has now said the issue is fully resolved.

In a statement they said: "All Aer Lingus flights are operating as normal today. The Aer Lingus website, mobile app and self-service kiosks are now fully available for customers to check-in and manage their bookings, following a temporary issue earlier today."
