Aer Lingus flyers have been urged to check their previous bookings as travel vouchers worth millions of euro are lying unclaimed.
During the Covid-19 lockdown, many airlines offered customers travel vouchers instead of cash refunds for cancelled flights. However, thousands of these vouchers have been left unused meaning that airlines are in possession of millions of euros worth of customers' money, Hull Live reports.
A number of airlines of International Airlines Group, which is the parent company of Aer Lingus, BA, Iberia, Vueling, and LEVEL, are estimated to have a whopping €600 million in vouchers. Aviation consultant and former IAG employee Robert Boyle told the BBC these vouchers were issued after airlines were forced to cancel a huge number of flights during the pandemic.

EasyJet said no vouchers had expired yet, while British Airways vouchers appear to run out in September this year.
