Adult website launches audacious £180million bid to be name of new Everton Stadium

US adult webcam site Stripchat say they've launched an audacious bid to claim naming rights of Everton's new proposed stadium.

The Toffees announced plans to build the venue back on the banks of the River Mersey at Bramley-Moore Docks in the centre of Liverpool in July 2021, as they prepare to move away from Goodison Park.

The plans were accelerated and building is taking place ahead of Everton opening the stadium ready for the start of the 2024/25 campaign. They have continued to proceed with their stadium build, with their new ground set to hold 53,000 fans. This is a significant increase on Goodison Park, which has a capacity just under 40,000.

In the build-up to the opening of the stadium, Everton are seeking naming rights for the ground with the project currently named as the "Everton Stadium".

Stripchat, an international adult website and social network that features free live-streamed webcam performances, often including nudity and sexual activity, has proposed an offer to become the name of Everton's new ground.

Stripchat contacted Prolific North by email and said: "With news that Everton is seeking naming rights for its new $566million stadium, Stripchat is officially extending a 10-year, $20 million-per-year offer to have the stadium named the Stripchat Sustainability Stadium."

Max Bennett, Stripchat’s VP of New Media, added: "Stripchat has officially extended our offer to Everton to be the official naming partner for the club’s new stadium. If our bid were to be accepted, we would make a concerted effort to make 'Stripchat Sustainability Stadium' the most progressive, responsible, and sustainable stadium in the world."

Last month, Everton announced they had partnered with US-based firm Elevate Sports Ventures to help them in their search for a naming rights partner for the stadium.

In January 2020, the club entered into an exclusivity deal with former club partners USM Holdings where the Alisher Usmanov-owned firm would pay £30m for first refusal. However, Russia's invasion of Ukraine and the UK's relationship with Vladimir Putin has appeared to close any deal with Usmanov's group.

Everton haven't placed a timescale on getting a stadium naming rights partner sorted, but the ball has now started rolling on trying to secure one. Stripchat are trying to take advantage of that, but Everton say that no official approach has so far been received.

As part of the proposed agreement, Stripchat claimed it would ensure the stadium limits carbon output and is used to host philanthropic events of importance to the company.

These events would include - but won't be limited to - sexual health events during "No Nut November," and support events for veterans during PTSD Awareness Month in June.
