Adult pantomine promises Christmas laughs all the way

A panto with a difference is promising to bring laughs to the stage of an Ayr nightclub.

Popular music venue Printhouse will be transformed for two evenings - starting tonight - for the production of 'Snaw White And The Seven Psychopaths'.

Written, cast and produced in less than three weeks, the show is the brainchild of local theatre impresario Chris Taylor.

He told Ayrshire Live: "It's been one of my biggest challenges to date, but I never do things the easy way!

"I had some spare time on my hands at the start of December and thought...why not?!

"The writing was actually the easy part. Before I knew it, I had scribbled through about 45 pages of script.

"Getting the cast together and finding a venue at short notice was the far trickier part, but it's all come together brilliantly."

Chris and his team open tonight for two sold out shows at the Printhouse, formerly known as Fury's Nightclub, in Nile Court.

He said: "It's a natural theatre and a fantastic venue for a show like this - the lighting and stage they have there is a real asset to the town.

"It's almost like a mini Arches in Glasgow where you have the best of both worlds, going from an arts venue to a nightclub later on.

"The show has some really nice touches as well. My partner Megan is having her first ever performance in the role of Snaw White, while we've also got a couple of students from my youth theatre in big roles.

"We've all come together to make it the best show we can and hopefully all those coming along will have a right good night.

"This isn't about the glitz and glamour - it's about people coming along and being entertained.

"If they get a good night to talk about at work the next day then our job is done.

"The focus has been on the dialogue and the chaos and that helps disguise the fact we don't have a budget to play with. I'm hoping the show will be all the better for it.

"My pantos are not for the faint hearted but they're never offensive and we just want to give our audience an escape for a couple of hours."
