ASDA has announced plans to close stores in the UK. The supermarket giant says it has decided to close the stores following a consultation period, and has promised to to all it can to find the staff members affected roles in stores elsewhere.
Two ASDA stores will be affected. The closures are set to take place in the coming months.
The affected ASDA stores sell clothing, homeware and entertainment goods. However, they do not sell groceries.

The supermarket is shutting its ASDA home branch in Island Green Retail Park, Wrexham, on July 31, before its outlet in Eastgate Retail Park, Bristol, at a date which is to be confirmed. A spokesperson for the supermarket giant said that stores had been "running at a loss for a number of years".
They added: "Unfortunately, following a period of consultation, we have decided to close the stores. We recognise this will be a difficult time for colleagues at the store and we are in discussions with all of them to support them through this process, we will do all we can to find alternate roles in other local stores."
Asda Living stores offer clothing, homeware and entertainment goods, kitchenware and furnishings and electronics. The closure of the Wrexham branch means around 20 jobs are under threat, according to Birmingham Live.
On its website, the supermarket chain says: "Asda Living stores bring you fashionable clothing, latest homeware and great value entertainment goods you’ve come to expect from George and Asda all under one roof.
