Adored Ayrshire restaurant closes for extensive refurbishment including new 'state-of-the-art kitchen'

A popular Ayrshire restaurant has closed its doors for an extensive refurbishment.

Scotts Largs has shut down for an autumn facelift after bosses admitted it was time the Buzzworks venue got some TLC after 11 years.

The Largs Yacht Haven venue which shares its name with another Buzzworks eatery in Troon will undergo a host of changes as they announced the temporary closure this week, with the doors closing on Tuesday and the restaurant hoping to relaunch with a fresh new look in mid November.

The venue revealed they will add new state-of-the-art kitchen along with a new outside dining space which will come with a retractable roof and glazing system making it perfect for all year round dining.

The restaurant also teased that chefs were working on a new autumn menu ahead of the reopening.

Scotts Largs announced the changes to come on their Facebook.

A post from the venue on Monday said: "After 11 wonderful years here at Largs Yacht Haven, we decided it was high time that we treated ourselves to some TLC, so we'll be undertaking an extensive refurbishment this Autumn.

"We'll be closed from tomorrow - Tuesday, September 27 - and reopening mid November.

"Of course, this means we won't be able to welcome customers for a short while, but believe us, the results will be well worth the wait.

"Not only can you expect an even more impressive interior story and a state-of-the-art kitchen but we are also adding an exciting new outside space complete with a retractable roof and glazing system - perfect for all year-round dining...

"Speaking of which, our Chefs are busy adding the final touches to our all-new Autumn menus and can't wait to share them with you when we relaunch. Until then, be sure to keep an eye on our social media channels for progress updates.

"Thanks again for your support, we promise it will be worth the wait."
