Adorable dog who needs wheelchair is desperately searching for new home

She only has love to give - but has been struggling to secure a home due to her disability.

Poor Flo was diagnosed with intervertebral disk disease (IVDD), commonly described as a ruptured, slipped, bulging or herniated disk, in July 2020.

The four-year-old underwent spinal surgery to correct her problem - but unfortunately her operation was unsuccessful.

She has spent years with animal organisation Miracles Missions searching for a new home - but is yet to win over a new owner.

A statement reads: "Flo is in need of a new home through no fault of her own."

Although she can get around okay at home, she needs a wheelchair for walks and requires bladder expression about four times a day.

The French bulldog, who has spent her entire life between rescue centres, needs an owner who is at home most of the day and who can provide her with the "care and attention she so deserves".

"Flo has some other health issues that are managed by medication when they flare up," the statement adds.

"She has allergies that have caused skin issues and has previously had ear infections.

"She has also had frequent urinary tract infections. The vets feel this could be due to her bladder not being fully emptied or not emptied frequently enough.

Flo could live with another friendly dog and children over five-years-old. She has also previously shared a house with a cat.

She is currently in foster care in Burton-on-Trent but can be rehomed to anywhere in the UK.

The statement adds: "She is a really happy dog who loves to zoom around in her wheels with her friends."

Established in 2015 by Victoria Bryceson, Miracle’s Mission is a UK registered animal welfare charity who work predominantly in the UK, Borneo and Egypt.

The charity is on a "mission to provide a place of safety for animals in danger, to educate on the needs of neutering both pets and strays and to neuter stray dogs and cats to prevent the birth of more animals onto the streets".

If you’re interested in rehoming Flo, please contact Miracle’s Mission via info@miraclesmission.org . To support the charity, visit their website via www.miraclesmission.org.
