Adnan Januzaj transfer talks 'underway' after he's spotted in London with Alexander Isak

Adnan Januzaj will be able to leave Real Sociedad on a free transfer at the end of the season, and talks have reportedly begun as the former Manchester United man looks to seal his future.

The Belgian international was reportedly spotted in London over the weekend with club teammate Alexander Isak, prompting suggestions the Swede could move to London before the transfer window shuts.

Januzaj has been with Real Sociedad since 2017, when he joined the Spanish club from United, though his contract situation means he is free to speak to potential suitors with a view to a summer switch.

A return to England doesn't look to be on the cards, though, with reports from Italy suggesting the 26-year-old could be set to give Serie A a go after stints in the Premier League and La Liga.

According to Il Corriere dello Sport (via Football Italia ), Napoli have opened talks over a deal for Januzaj, who has played 120 times for Real Sociedad in La Liga.

The Italian side are looking for new recruits as they prepare for life without Lorenzo Insigne, who is due to move to Major League Soccer side Toronto FC at the end of the European season.

Napoli are currently second in Serie A, with Champions League football very much in their sights for next season, while they have a clash with Barcelona to look forward to in the Europa League knockout round play-offs.

Januzaj made his Premier League debut for Manchester United as a teenager, making more than 30 appearances under David Moyes in the 2013-14 season,

He featured less prominently under Louis van Gaal and Jose Mourinho, though, moving on loan to Moyes' Sunderland for the 2016-17 campaign and making a permanent move to Spain after the Black Cats' relegation.

Januzaj made his 100th La Liga appearance this season, with his 150th in all competitions for Real Sociedad arriving a little later, and his current club also has a big Europa League game on the horizon against RB Leipzig.

Real Sociedad have had a relatively quiet January for the most part, though they've signed Rafinha on loan from Paris Saint-Germain, and much of the discussion around the Spanish club has concerned the future of striker Isak.

The Swede has a release clause in his contract, but potential suitors Arsenal are not expected to meet it this month.

AC Milan are also reported to have joined the chase for the 22-year-old, who has 30 goals in 88 league games for La Real.

“I’m in a good place at the moment, I’m very happy, but one day it would be nice to play in England as well,” Isak told The Independent in November.

“They have six or seven of the biggest clubs in the world, it’s a very high level, and of course one day it would be an alternative. "
