'Adipurush' box office collection Day 2: Prabhas starrer set to record Rs 100-crore opening weekend collection

The Prabhas and Kriti Sanon starrer 'Adipurush' is all set to record a good opening weekend at the box office. The film which has been drawing in audiences in large numbers, is set to cross the Rs 100-crore mark on Sunday.

The Hindi version of the film saw another good day at the box office, earning around Rs 35 crore on Saturday. This, coupled with its opening day collections of Rs 35 crore, takes its overall total to an estimated Rs 70 crore nett.

Meanwhile, the film's overall collections from all regional dubbed formats shot up to Rs 135 crore nett. The mythological action flick opened to collections of Rs 76 crore nett on Friday (all formats) and added another Rs 59 crore on Saturday, thus putting it on track to cross the Rs 200 crore mark by the end of its first week.

Adipurush managed to keep its collections consistent with its first-day numbers. Once the film crosses the Rs 100-crore mark, it will join the ranks of films like Hrithik Roshan's WAR and Ranbir Kapoor's Brahmastra.

According to trade experts, the film is set to cross the lifetime business of Salman Khan's Kisi ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan which had an extended Eid weekend.

The film also worked well in Nizam/Andhra and although the collections are down to 20 crore nett from 36 crore nett this is a very good trend for this circuit.

The multilingual 3D spectacle, stars Prabhas as Raghav, Kriti Sanon as Janaki and Saif Ali Khan as Lankesh.

It remains to be seen if the film can beat Shah Rukh Khan's 'Pathaan' to claim the title of the highest pan-India opener for a Hindi film

Adipurush is reportedly one of the most expensive films made in the country with an estimated budget of Rs 500 crore.

At the trailer launch, the director announced that a seat will be reserved for Lord Hanuman in every screening.
