Adele to be rolling in the cash with mega film deal amid Las Vegas residency

Adele is on course to earn more cash from recording her concert film show than the total revenue of all her performances in Las Vegas.

Her upcoming concert and part documentary of her Weekends With Residency, to be filmed this next few weeks, is on course to bank the singer over £50m ($60m) worldwide in TV syndication or streaming, on demand sales, digital release and CD sales.

The Londoner has earned around £22.6m ($28m) so far from her 32 show run with £25.8m ($32m) coming in from her upcoming shows in her Weekends With Residency at The Colosseum, Caesars Palace later this year.

That £48m from working 64 nights is eclipsed by the concert film payday, which will be recorded over a couple of days starting this weekend (Friday June 16).

It is another super smart business move for Adele, who has raked in tens of thousands in merchandising from her Vegas shows too with wine bottles and hoodies at £60 a pop.

Insiders say Adele and her team learned the benefit of taking charge of her concert film special thanks to the huge earnings from striking a global revenue share deal for her 2021 One Night Only interview, which was sold around the world.

That special, including an interview with Oprah Winfrey talking about her album 30, generated revenue of around £80m ($100m) at the time and from subsequent deals with broadcasters.

Insiders say that broadcasters worldwide and streaming networks have tabled huge offers for long term rights for her Weekends With Residency film.

After those initial sales, deals will be available for digital downloads, streaming and DVD sales. The Londoner will also keep earning money in sales, long term residuals and sales for many years,

The Vegas source said that Adele, Sony Music and her management thrashed out secret deals across the world worth vast sums.

The insider said: "Adele's Vegas shows are not just a massive success critically and with fans, but also financially. And the film special is also going to bring in millions more - a sum greater than the show payments. She and her team have a raft of deals lined up to sell worldwide for TV networks and streamers. Her appeal and value for this kind of prime time show commands millions from each country.

"Her last special One Night Only made around $100m globally, which demonstrates her appeal. In the past Adele played stadia, but Vegas has just 4000 seats a night, so millions want to watch a full scale production and mini doc about her journey.

"These shows in June will be recorded and have film crews follow her success. It's another brilliant business move, which over the long term will make her tens of millions."

The Brit and Grammy winner spoke of her delight at recapturing her love for performing with her Vegas run.

"I am the happiest I have ever, ever, ever been on stage."It has been an absolute joy. I feel emotional. In this process I can't say I have fallen back in love with playing live, because I cannot say I loved it to be honest. I am being serious. But it is special for me.

"It just feels so one on one. I really have loved coming here every weekend.
