Adele's sweet nod to Sir Tom Jones ahead of Las Vegas residency

Adele has made a sweet nod to Welsh legend Sir Tom Jones ahead of her rescheduled Las Vegas residency. The 34-year-old's residency is kicking off at the Colosseum at Caesar's Palace this weekend and will run until March 2023.

The highly-anticipated shows come after the singer cancelled her residency with less than 24 hours notice in January, sparking backlash. Now, as she prepares for her first rescheduled performance, Adele revealed she was feeling "highly emotional" and "incredibly nervous".

Sharing her nerves on the eve of her first gig, which takes place on Friday, November 18, Adele said she felt "a million miles away from home", which led to a memory of watching Sir Tom Jones when she was little.

The singer wrote: "I'm feeling all sorts as I write this. I’m highly emotional, incredibly nervous but can’t sit still because I’m so excited.

"Maybe it’s because I didn’t start when I was supposed to. Maybe it’s because it’s opening night, maybe it’s because Hyde Park went so great, maybe its because I love the show I don’t know.

"But it’s safe to say I’ve never been more nervous before a show in my career, but at the same time I wish today was tomorrow! I can’t wait to see you out there."

Adele's post quickly racked up over one million likes as the singer was flooded with support. "Literally couldn’t be happier and more excited for you!!!" wrote one fan, while another added: "Beyond excited for you Adele! We are so ready to see you!!!!"

Earlier this year Adele, whose father Mark Evans was Welsh, opened up about the sweet times she spent with her grandparents in Penarth and how proud her "grampy" would have been of her career. You can read more on this here. For more showbiz and television stories get our newsletter here.
