Adele's ex Skepta begs for prayers after hospital dash with mystery illness

Skepta has asked his fans for prayers after being admitted to hospital with a mystery illness.

The Grime artist, 39, whose real name is Joseph Olaitan Adenuga Jr, asked his fans to keep him in their prayers as he shared news of his admission to hospital.

The music artist posted a photo from the hospital ward to his Instagram Stories as he lay down while donned in a hospital gown.

‘Say a little prayer for me,’ he penned.

Skepta is currently on tour and due to perform at Rolling Loud Festival in Portugal on Thursday.

The reason for his hospital dash has not yet been revealed.

Skepta hit the headlines last year after he was linked to British singing sensation, Adele.

At the time, Adele went to lengths to insist that she was not dating anyone and claimed she was, in fact, single – making a public declarations about her romantic life not long after she hosted Saturday Night Live the year before.

However, the chart topping star was spotted out and about with the Grime artist on several occasions in LA.

Around the same time, Skepta left his fans concerned that he was close to quitting music after dropping a cryptic retirement hint.

The super-star rapper had just finished work on producer JAE5’s new song Dimension at the time.

The star said that after that record is released he "out" – and some took that as he's leaving the industry behind.

He wrote on Instagram : "This Jae5 song/video featuring REMA and myself was recorded and shot last year in Ghana. I have one more song with Bando & L’s that we also recorded in 2020 – after we drop that I’m out..."

He then added: "Any verses of mine you hear this year were all recorded last year. I’ve stopped recording 2021."

The three-time Brit Award nominee also has a passion for acting and many thought that could be his next career move.
