Adele won her first Emmy Award at the weekend after being victorious in winning the Outstanding Variety Special (Pre-Recorded) during the 2022 Creative Arts Emmys for her CBS special 'One Night Only' that was simulcast on Paramount + on Saturday.
A day later, the Easy On Me singer, 34, took to Instagram to share her award with her 50.8 million followers. She posed for a smile holding the statued award and now only needs a Tony award to reach the coveted EGOT status - which is often referred to as the grand slam of show business as it means a star who has received an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony award.
Sharing a number of snaps, Adele wrote: "Bloody hell I'm pleased as punch! Thank you @mrbenwinston for dropping this round to me this afternoon!!
"Trust me to officially have an EGO,' and then followed with a screaming out loud happy face emoji. Thank you so much @televisionacad , I'm so so honored to receive this. Big up to everyone involved. @griffithobservatory thank you for letting me sing up on your mountain and big love to all the other nominees x"
Fans quickly praised the singer in the comments section. One user wrote: "DESERVED," while another penned: "So So So proud for you!!!!," along with a string of crying face emojis.
Her special show won in all of the five categories it was nominated for at the ceremony in Los Angeles, including Outstanding Lighting Design, Outstanding Sound Mixing For A Variety Series or Special, and Outstanding Directing For A Variety Special.
The show, filmed last October in LA, was Adele's first live performance in six years. It aired a month later and featured three tunes which hadn't before been heard as well as songs from her previous albums.
Previously, the songstress had bagged 15 Grammys from 18 nominations and won her Oscar for Best Original Song for the soundtrack for hit James Bond film Skyfall.
Only 17 artists have ever won an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony. The most recent member of the prestigious group was Jennifer Hudson after she won a Tony Award earlier this year for producing the musical A Strange Group.
Other winners include Marvin Hamlisch, Audrey Hepburn and Jonathan Tunick.
