Adele fans could be in for a summer of excitement – as there are high hopes her postponed Las Vegas residency gigs could be rescheduled to take place between June and September.
The 33-year-old Rolling In The Deep singer had been due to take to The Colosseum at Caesars Palace from January 21st for a string of gigs titled Weekend’s With Adele.
But she cancelled her concerts at the last minute – with Ticketmaster urging fans to “keep hold of your tickets” in the hopes that rescheduled dates would be announced in due course.
Now rumours abound that space is being made for Adele to take to the stage at long last over the summer – as it has been noticed that Kieth Urban is in a residency at the iconic hotel until June 18th and then Sir Rod Stewart is expected to take over on September 23rd.
It is suggested Adele will jet in to the venue to belt out her tunes to the delight of fans over various dates – while also maintaining other gig commitments elsewhere in the world.
A source told The Sun on Sunday: “That is the scheduling that would make the most sense.
“Talks are ongoing at the moment, and the hope is that Adele’s rearranged dates will be agreed very soon.
“She has made it clear that next year is not an option, and everyone is keen to lock the dates in.”
Adele left fans heartbroken, devastated, enraged and out of pocket when she cancelled her planned residency last month.
Some fans had spent thousands on flights, hotels and on tickets to her show only to learn the concerts had been cancelled while they were in mid-air half-way across the Atlantic on their way to see her.
Conflicting reports emerged of the reason for Adele’s cancellation – with Covid concerns initially being blamed for the abrupt change in service.
But then reports suggested the star had flown into a rage when she saw the set she was expected to perform in which included an ambitious water feature.
Quotes suggested the singer snapped that the stage resembled a “baggy old pond” and she “refused, point blank, to stand in the middle of it”.
A source said last month: “The intention was to fill it with water on the set as she was lifted up on a crane-type mechanism, creating the illusion she was floating on water.”
Adele had tearfully told fans she was cancelling her shows just hours before the first of her residency dates was due to begin.
She said in an Instagram post at the time: “I’m so sorry, but my show isn’t ready. We’ve been absolutely destroyed by delivery delays and Covid. Half my crew … are down with Covid – they still are – and it’s been impossible to finish the show.”
While the star was previously predicted to make as much over £500,000 per show for each of her residency gigs.
