When pals Jack Burns-Langton, Dean Barber and Lisa Oakley got last minute tickets to Adele, they couldn't wait to celebrate Pride and their favourite musical icon on the same day.
They headed to London's British Summer Time from Colchester, Essex, for the British Summer Time gig on Saturday - but ended up having a money-can't-buy night out with the best seats in the house, a chat with Adele and free drinks. And it was all thanks to an £8 flag they picked up at Holburn tube station.
Dad-of-two Jack, 28, tells The Mirror: "It was a pure fluke and there is no amount of money that could have bought us that experience - that's what made it even more surreal.
"It was the most unforgettable experience of my life. My wife said she thinks it tops our wedding day. You hear about these experiences from time to time but you just assume it's never going to happen to you."
Shortly after the trio arrived at Hyde Park, Lisa needed the loo so joined the long queue for the woman's loos.
While they were waiting for her, Jack and Dean were approached by a member of Adele's team who had a big favour to ask.
Jack said: "We didn't rush to get [to Hyde Park], we've seen her before and we knew wherever we were standing the atmosphere was going to be amazing. We were just in general admission."
"This woman just appeared and said, 'this is going to sound really random'. Dean had a Pride flag around his neck and Adele had asked her to come out and find one.
"We just thought she was pulling our leg. Everyone was on such a high and chatting to everyone, but then we spotted her uniform and her walkie talkie."
She offered them VIP All Access Passes and drinks tokens if Adele could borrow their flag for part of her set - and of course they agreed.
Contacts manager Jack said: "There was a guy waiting for us with our passes and they said 'get them a drink, make it a double, they're drinking on us tonight'.
They then had to explain they had left the third member of their group in the toilet, and staff found an extra VIP pass for Lisa - who had the shock of her life when she finally made it to the front of the bathroom queue.
"Lisa was still in the toilet, she didn't know where we went. We rang her to find out where she went, she thought we had left her. She was like 'oh have a good night, I'm fine on my own' - I had to interrupt and say no you need to listen to me.
"We all played a little part of it - if we weren't waiting for Lisa, we wouldn't have been standing there, it was my flag and Dean had decided to wear it around his neck."
They walked to their new VIP spot and started enjoying enjoying the night, telling the story to the crowd around them and making the most of the free drinks free drinks. They also got to meet a few celeb guests, including Charlotte from Geordie Shore.
But little did they know that Adele had more treats in store for them.
The member of staff who found Jack and Dean in the crowd told Adele how excited they had been to hear she wanted their Pride flag, so when she took to the stage she invited them right down to the front.
"After she had done two songs she asked where Jack and Dean were. We erupted at that point. We got down to the front and security literally lifted us over the barrier.
"We were gobsmacked, we were just trying not to die on the spot. We could just hear everyone in VIP clapping."
Adele then explained to the crowd what had happened with the flag, saying that she wanted to give them "the best seats in the house" after hearing they were nearly in tears to learn Adele wanted their Pride flag.

The Easy on Me singer then chatted to the pair, who have been friends for year, checking they had been given lots of free drinks and asking if they were drunk yet.
"She was conscious that we were there through the whole show, she kept coming over and was winking at us and blowing kisses. She was singing bits into my phone. It was just mental."
For her encore, Adele wore the flag around her neck to perform When We Were Young.
"I think it just meant everything to everyone in that community. It was a once in a lifetime moment."
But the highlight of the night for Jack was when Adele played One and Only, which is his and his wife's favourite song. He called her for the song and admits he burst into tears with emotion.
"I will tell this story again and again, probably for the rest of my life."
