Adele's new music video to accompany her latest hit called I Drink Wine has been released - and fans think they've found a hidden meaning in the set up.
The track, which was released last year, was part of the songstress's fourth studio album, 30.
And after the 34-year-old teased the video’s release on Tuesday, she revealed that it was the first video she shot for the album, despite already having released videos for Easy On Me and Oh My God.
The new video opens on a river flanked by banks covered in deeply coloured flowers and over which is an arched bridge with a man playing the piano.
After a few seconds, Adele appears and floats down the river toward the camera in a rubber ring. In the clip, she's holding a glass of wine in one hand and an almost-empty wine bottle in the other.
She looks stunning as she dons a glittery gold dress as she floats by a happy looking couple while she rolls her eyes and tops up her wine glass before tossing the now-empty wine bottle into the river.
As darkness looms, the singer then floats passed more people on the banks of the river before the camera pans out revealing the set of the music video and the crew working behind the scenes.
To end, the video sees the Rolling in the Deep singer floating on her back in the river surrounded by pink flowers.
After viewing the video, fans quickly became hooked on the idea the river was a representation of Adele's "complex river of thoughts".
Others believe the ending shows how Adele has finally accepted herself.
One Twitter user commented: "This video has so much meaning behind it cuz the song has a truthfully meaning and the video is the opposite of that which I love just brilliant absolutely brilliant!!!!!"
Another wrote: "From being alone to have having someone and learning to let go - thank you Adele for teaching us that is okay to be alone, it's okay to let go!"
According to the UK Official Charts, 30 was the biggest-selling album of 2021. Adele performed I Drink Wine at the Brit Awards in February, where she won album of the year for 30 and single of the year for Easy On Me.
After postponing her Las Vegas residency earlier this year due to delivery delays and Covid-19, Adele is set to begin her series of show’s at Caesars Palace next month, which will run until March 2023.
