Adele branded a 'diva' 'after tearfully cancelling her longed-for Las Vegas shows

Adele has been branded a 'diva' after pulling out from her Las Vegas show in news which left fans fuming.

The Easy On Me singer, 33, tearfully explained she would have to postpone her performance after the schedule had been “absolutely destroyed by delivery delays and Covid”.

Fans were annoyed with the lack of notice and now it's been claimed that Adele and her team made 'unreasonable demands' ahead of the show.

Las Vegas journalist Scott Roeben said the star apparently refused to use the house equipment in the iconic Sin City theatre The Colosseum.

He said: "The theatre has a massive video screen, very high tech, but Adele's team insisted upon an entirely new system – a larger screen, essentially built a few inches in front of the existing screen.

"Such demands not only drive up production costs but, at a time when supplies are disrupted, it's a recipe for disaster – in this case last-minute delays or cancellations," reports the Daily Mail.

According to Scott, Caesars Palace is "100% ready for her [Adele]" so he believes "there are other forces at work here.

"Unfortunately, it sounds like one of those factors is a diva," he said.

The Mirror has contacted Adele's representatives for comment.

With an army of loyal fans and scores of smash hits under her belt, Adele is one of the most in-demand stars.

Tickets to her stateside gig sold out in hours with many fans making long journeys to go and see the star perform.

Speaking to the Sunday Mirror via Facetime with fans at her pop-up merchandise shop in the hotel, yards from where she was due to sing, Adele apologised for the cancellation again.

Smiling through tears as her supporters gathered around the phone, she said: “There is nothing I’d want more than to perform, but I need the show to be the very best – it’s what fans deserve.

"Seeing you there is giving me terrible FOMO. I so wish I was with you.”

Despite her disappointment, fans look like they're in for a long wait until they see the star on stage.

Of when she may return, one member of staff at Caesars said: “We have been told it may be July at the earliest, but nothing is confirmed.”

Asked why the show was axed at the 11th hour, the staffer who worked alongside production staff and management, said: “It just couldn’t come together and this is the right thing to do. It is important she is happy.”
