A woman has been arrested after she was found asleep behind the wheel of an allegedly stolen car at a Hungry Jack's drive-through in Adelaide's northern suburbs.

An employee of the fast food store on Vater Street at Dry Creek noticed the 22-year-old woman napping and called police just before 5am on Wednesday.

The Honda Civic, allegedly stolen from a Parafield Gardens address last week, was involved in a suspected break-in at a business where three people took thousands of dollars of catalytic converters earlier in the month.

Police woke the woman and arrested her.

They searched the car and allegedly found methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

The woman from Paralowie will be charged with illegal use, licence offences and possessing a controlled substance.

She is expected to be bailed to appear in court at a later date.
