Adelaide man charged with assaulting women on tram allegedly carrying disguises and knives

Police are appealing to others who may have been assaulted on the tram to come forward. (ABC News: Dean Faulkner)

A 32-year-old man accused of assaulting women on an Adelaide tram has been found carrying knives and a disguise.

SA police said the man was "behaving inappropriately and in a disorderly way" towards several women while travelling from Adelaide's Entertainment Centre in Hindmarsh to the city just after midday on Monday.

Police were alerted to the behaviour and apprehended a man after he alighted the tram at Bonython.

It is alleged he was found in possession of several knives and a disguise.

He was charged with assault, disorderly behaviour, carrying prohibited weapons and an article of disguise.

Police believe there may be more victims, and have asked anyone else who may have been assaulted on the tram to come forward.

The man will face the Adelaide Magistrate's Court in July.

He has been banned from using the tram network for three months.
