Adelaide United have ended a three-match A-League Men winless run with a 2-0 victory over Perth Glory at Coopers Stadium.
The Reds scored either side of halftime, with Lachie Barr collecting his first A-League goal and Ben Halloran capping a slick team move midway through the second half.
More than 10,000 fans turned up to see the victory with United coach Carl Veart applauding the win.
"We were good in the first half, we just didn't create enough clear-cut chances for our liking," he said.
"But credit to the boys, they stuck to our game plan and got the three points.
"It's always great when you win, especially at home ... and to keep a clean sheet as well, that's a great positive for us."
Both teams fashioned numerous half-chances but lacked polish in the front third, struggling to find the right pass or space to shoot.
After a dour opening to the contest, United had the first chance on 13 minutes with a quick attack where Halloran whipped in a powerful cross to the near post where Zach Clough headed over from close range.
Ten minutes later and Perth had a great chance with Salim Khelifi crossing into the area for Keegan Jelacic, who took a touch and blasted towards goal but was denied by a brilliant lunging block from Barr.
The two sides continued look for openings but failed to create any clear chances until United broke the deadlock on 40 minutes.
Clough recycled a cleared Craig Goodwin corner, lobbing it back into the Glory penalty area, but it was punched away by Liam Reddy, who collided with Hiroshi Ibusuki in the process.
The punch wasn't convincing and Barr charged through to meet Reddy's clearance, meeting it on the full and heading the ball goal bound before it was helped over the line by Khelifi.
Perth put Adelaide on notice soon after the restart and should have equalised through substitute Luke Ivanovic.
A deflected cross from Jack Clisby fell perfectly to Ivanovic but he poked his volley just wide of the post from close range.
Just before the hour and the Glory had another chance inside this area, this time it was Mark Beevers who found himself in a shooting position after a short corner, but his effort was tame and easily collected by United keeper Joe Gauci.
This sparked the Reds into action and full-back Panashe Madanha, in his starting debut, tore down the right wing before teeing up Isaias who rattled the cross bar with a curling lob from just outside the area.
The home side doubled its lead on 72 minutes with a well-worked, swift attack.
Ryan Kitto released the ball out of defence for Goodwin, whose first-time pass released Clough down the wing.
The English midfielder whipped in a cross to the back post where it was met by Halloran who side-footed past Reddy.
Glory coach Ruben Zadkovich lamented a poor showing from his side, particularly in the opening stanza.
"The first half I thought (it was) not good enough from our point of view and it didn't really look like us, lately. I thought the performance was well below our best," he said.
