When it comes to music, Addison Rae is just getting started. The 23-year-old singer, dancer, and social media personality released her debut EP last year, leaving her dedicated fans wanting more from her pop career.
Rae's AR EP, consisting of four songs, has been a hit among her fans. The release of this project brought her joy, excitement, and a sense of fulfillment. 'It's always so nice to just put something out,' she expressed in an interview regarding her role in Nerds' first-ever Super Bowl commercial.
However, the road to releasing her EP wasn't without its challenges. After dropping her first single 'Obsessed' in 2021, Rae temporarily stepped back from the music scene. Then, much to her surprise, several of her demos leaked onto the internet the following year. 'To this day, I still have no idea how that happened, but everything happens for a reason,' she shared about the leaks. Despite her initial confusion, Rae felt a desire to have these songs officially released, acknowledging the positive reception they had received.
Excitement grew among her fans as demo versions of songs like 'I Got It Bad' and '2 Die 4' made waves online and even found their way into DJ sets at nightclubs. Responding to the enthusiasm surrounding these leaked tracks, Rae surprised her devoted followers in August 2023 by releasing her EP. The project featured the aforementioned songs as well as 'Nothing On (But the Radio)' and 'It Could've Been U,' both of which had also been leaked prior.
These songs hold significant meaning for Rae and represent a significant chapter in her life. 'I love those songs so much. They're such a huge part of my life,' she shared. Seeing her hard work come to fruition brought her immense excitement and a deep sense of fulfillment.
One song in particular, 'Nothing On (But the Radio),' generated even more buzz upon its release. Demo versions of the track recorded by Lady Gaga had leaked more than a decade prior but were never officially released. Rae acknowledges being a huge Lady Gaga fan and wonders if the pop star herself has heard her version. 'I would love to know if she heard it. It's such a different version than hers, so it would be interesting [to know] what she thinks,' Rae pondered.
Now, fans of Addison Rae can look forward to more music coming their way. While the singer-dancer remains tight-lipped about specifics, she did reveal that she is constantly in the studio, hinting at future releases. In the meantime, she plans to bring her AR tracks to life through live performances, giving her fans a taste of what's to come.
As Addison Rae's music career continues to evolve, her debut EP serves as a strong foundation for what's yet to come. With her passion for music and dedicated fan base, there's no doubt that Rae's journey in the industry will be an exciting one to witness. So stay tuned for more infectious pop tunes and electrifying performances from this rising star.
