Adana Demirspor 'eyeing' Salomon Rondon move as Everton make 'transfer decision'

Adana Demirspor are among the teams looking to sign Salomon Rondon before the transfer window closes in Turkey today.

That is according to The Times, which claims that Everton are prepared to release the forward having signed Neal Maupay from Brighton. The report also claims that Rondon’s release could also come as a result of Dominic Calvert-Lewin stepping up his recovery from injury.

The striker made the move to Merseyside on transfer deadline day last summer, becoming the fifth arrival of that transfer window after leaving Dalian Professional. However, after Calvert-Lewin picked up an injury early in the season, the Venezuela international was thrust into the limelight earlier than expected.

Having not been up to full fitness in his first few appearances, Rondon eventually made 20 appearances in the Premier League for his new side. He scored once in an away defeat to Crystal Palace, and picked up one assist in the home draw against Leicester City.

Rondon appeared in three of Everton's first four games of the new Premier League season, but has failed to emerge from the bench in the last two fixtures against Leeds and Liverpool. He now appears to have fallen down the pecking order following the arrival of Maupay.

Speaking on his Everton future back in June, Rondon said: "I’m in good shape physically and I’m ready to continue at the highest level. I have one more year on my contract with Everton but I want to continue competing, I want to continue being important."
