Adam Woodyatt has announced a rather surprising career move for this year, despite not having quit EastEnders.
Adam is best known for playing Ian Beale in the BBC One soap, but announced in August 2020 that he would be taking an "extended break" from the role.
Since leaving Albert Square, Adam has been on stage in Manchester in Looking Good Dead and also took part in I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! with fellow soap stars Simon Gregson, from Corrie, and Emmerdale ’s Danny Miller.
Adam appeared on Tuesday's This Morning alongside his former EastEnders co-star Laurie Brett, who is now acting in Looking Good Dead with him.
Speaking about working with his former onscreen wife again, Adam said: "It's been like putting on a really comfortable pair of old slippers!"
Dermot then said: "We have to ask you, the wonderful thing about when you leave somewhere where you've worked so long and it's almost like the second or third act of your life, that you can see different windows opening.... Adam, with you it's food.
"After this run you're gonna go and work for your friend in a kitchen and do some front of house, aren't you?" he asked the actor.
"Yeah I'm gonna go do some bits at Pub in the Park for The Star, possibly a bit for The Kentish Hare and then I'm gonna go and work at Midsomer House," Adam confirmed.
"Oh you should do a food documentary and come back and cook for us!" Dermot then suggested.
"I'll be the chopping chef!" Laurie joked as Adam admitted he was going to stay in the studio so that he could try some of the curry that chef Nisha Katona was cooking.
"We need to keep this chat going for a bit longer because I want that curry! If you think I'm getting off this sofa, forget it!" Adam admitted as Dermot invited him to stay for lunch.
This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV and ITV Hub.
