Adam Wainwright’s MLB career came to an emotional end earlier this month when he played his final game with the St. Louis Cardinals, the only team he played for in his 18 years in the big leagues.
Now it looks like he’s going to have a new career in baseball and will be very good at this one, too.
The 42-year-old right-hander has been working the Astros-Twins series for Fox Sports, and he’s quickly become one of the best analysts on TV. If you need proof of that, check out this moment from Tuesday’s Game 3 when he expertly broke down the difference between a slider and a sweeper:
Adam Wainwright explaining a Sweeper and why it's different from a traditional Slider.

That's the type of stuff you want to see while watching a baseball game. Fans loved it:
My postseason “hot take” is that Wainwright will be the main analyst for FOX and the World Series within the next 3ish years. https://t.co/a8woDQ5xSi

Adam Wainwright had already provided me with more information in this clip than 90% of national broadcasts have all year. https://t.co/9qtclvvM4q

I'm pretty critical of baseball announcing crews. This one was A+ today https://t.co/ENNIQnztYO

Anybody who followed Waino's career and heard his in-game and postgame interviews on a regular basis knew he was going to be an elite analyst in the booth. https://t.co/pMfOYu0EZy
