Adam Thomas sparks proposal frenzy as he shares Derby Day outing with son

Adam Thomas may have unintentionally caught a proposal on camera as she enjoyed a Derby Day out with his son.

The former Emmerdale star took to Instagram on Sunday night to share a glimpse into his fun, football-filled day as he took Teddy to watch Manchester United take on Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.

"Awww what a beautiful day spent with the boy," Adam shared alongside snaps of himself and his son sat in the stands intensely watching the game before enjoying the pre-match children's entertainment and getting Teddy decked out with his City shirt.

"He asked me if we could go to the game… I told him it was at city and we'd have to go undercover … think we got into character just a little bit too much!!!" the returning Waterloo Road actor joked.

He then added: "What a fun day…love making this boy smile."

And City fans were soon commenting.

"Taught your boy well #bluemoon," english_swedish_danish_ said.

@gem_carson_kace_ commented: "This makes me love use all even more knowing your blues!!!"

"I think Teds now a blue," @louise283 laughed.

But many of Adam's one million followers were distracted by one picture of Ted that appeared to show someone down on one knee in the background.

"Why’s the guy behind on ur last pic on one knee," @ caz987uk said.

@sianburrows_lg commented: "Is someone getting proposed too in the background."

"Is that man proposing in the last pic behind Ted?" @ jamrolypoly_se asked

@hayleabell81 echoed: "Is that someone proposing in the background of the last pic?????????"

Adam, 33, who also shared daughter Elsie-Rose with wife Caroline, clearly picked up on the comments as he took to his Instagram Story to question it himself.

Sharing a zoomed in version of the picture of his son donning his City shirt in front of a huge flag supporting the Blues, Adam wrote: "Hold on... is this guy proposing!!???? Did she say yes???"

But sadly, the moment remains a mystery and someone may have been celebrating more than just the results on Sunday afternoon.
